My Story
My why, really started as a “why not?”
Summer of 2015, I found myself home, all the time, with 8 kids, while my husband was now working two jobs. We had huge medical bills from some major medical issues, that I and my daughter had, and our monthly income was barely covering our bills.
With some birthday money and a love for Scentsy, I decided to invest into a new business. My husband wasn’t so sure, but I did it anyways. What did I have to lose? If it didn’t work out, I would be left with Scentsy products, that I loved, and I would be able to get my personal use products for less.
I started out okay, but I quickly felt the “now what?” that I have felt other times selling things. I decided to get out of my comfort zone just a little bit and really start talking to people about Scentsy. I started hitting goal after goal. Soon I saw that winning a trip to Disneyworld was in reach. (I LOVE Disney) I decided to keep pushing. Before I knew it, I had people joining my team. I earned that trip to Disney. I then earned trips to Punta Cana, Marco Island and more.
I started realizing that this is not just a “why not?” but a “why wouldn’t you?” My why has changed a bit with time and grown. While I still enjoy the extra income and free products, I now want to earn more trips. Something else that I hadn’t counted on, was just the feeling of accomplishment that I have got with Scentsy. While motherhood is rewarding and I love staying home, I can also get frustrated that most of my daily tasks are never ending and quickly get undone. I love the feeling of accomplishment I get with my business and really I just love being someone other than “Mom” for a little bit in my week.
I have sold other products in the past and never experienced this kind of success. I credit it to an up line of directors, who invest in their team, a product line that everyone loves and a little bit of perseverance. But beyond that, I have NEVER had directors invest in me, help and support me, like Scentsy has. Not once have I felt alone in this.
I am loving my growing team and supporting them and seeing them hit their goals. I believe in investing in each team member and trying to meet them where they are at and their personal goals. Over time, many of these relationships have grown to mean so much to me, as well as relationships with customers. We have had two major moves since I started and Scentsy has actually helped me meet people.
